Morning – Kaira’s POV
Monday morning felt like butterflies and storms dancing together inside me. My phone buzzed just as I picked my bag.
All the best for your first day. Don’t forget to eat breakfast.
I stared at the message, warmth curling in my chest. His name wasn’t saved, but I didn’t need to. Just one text, and my nerves eased.
Still smiling, I left for my new workplace, a mixture of excitement and nervousness following me like a shadow.
At the Office
The glass building loomed tall, modern, intimidating. As I stepped inside, every corner smelled of power and polish.
“Miss Kaira?” a receptionist greeted. “The boss would like to see you immediately.”
My heart skipped. First day, and already the boss wanted me? I hurried into the cabin, clutching my folder.
When the door opened, I froze.
Behind the massive desk sat a man in his early thirties, sharp features, slick smile, eyes too piercing for comfort.
“Welcome,” he said smoothly, leaning back in his chair. “Kaira, right? I’m Krish Verma. Your new boss.”
Boss. My new boss.
And my heart sank when his next words followed.
“You’ll be working directly as my personal assistant.”
Shock flashed across my face. PA? Nobody had mentioned that during my interview. Still, I forced a polite smile. “O-Of course, sir.”
His smirk deepened, eyes lingering a little too long. “Good. I like employees who listen.”
Something about his tone made unease creep down my spine. But I couldn’t ruin my first day. Not yet.
Krish Verma’s POV
The moment she walked in, Krish’s interest sharpened like a knife. He had gone through a hundred resumes, yet her name had stood out.
Kaira.
So innocent. So unaware. So perfect.
A Malhotra girl’s presence in my office? No, not a coincidence. He had dug deep. She wasn’t connected to Reyansh directly—but fate had handed him a weapon.
A cruel smile tugged his lips.
Reyansh Malhotra. The great untouchable. You took everything from me. Now, I’ll take everything from you. Starting with her.
His gaze flicked back to where Kaira nervously stood, clutching her folder. Her sunshine aura was almost blinding in his dark world. And that made him want to corrupt it even more.
Patience, he reminded himself. Slowly. She would never see it coming.
Meanwhile – Reyansh’s POV
Across the city, Reyansh adjusted his cufflinks as he glanced at the file in front of him.
“Candidate: Riya Joshi.”
The young woman walked in with too-bright lipstick and too-confident eyes. She tried too hard. Laughing unnecessarily, leaning closer, brushing her hair like she was in some movie scene.
Reyansh’s jaw tightened. “Miss Joshi, this isn’t a modeling audition. It’s a corporate interview.”
Her smile faltered. “But sir, I can be very… flexible.”
His expression turned to stone. He shut the file. “This interview is over. You’re not what this company needs.”
Her face flushed red. “You’ll regret this!”
Reyansh didn’t even look up as he signed the next paper. Women like her had no place in his world. Not when… his thoughts flickered for a moment to someone who didn’t even know she lived in his storm.
Someone probably at her new office right now.
Evening – Kaira’s POV
By the time I reached home, exhaustion weighed on me. Yet, I couldn’t stop smiling. First day, done.
The smell of chai welcomed me, along with familiar voices from the living room.
Vihaan bhai was sitting with Papa, both in a deep conversation about business stocks, while Ruhi bhabhi brought in a tray of pakoras.
The moment she saw me, Ruhi’s face lit up. “First day successful?” she asked warmly.
I grinned. “Yes. Survived.”
Vihaan bhai put his phone aside, eyes soft but firm. “I knew you’d do well. But remember, Kaira, a new office means new people. Be smart, don’t trust easily.” His protective tone was unmistakable.
Papa added, voice steady but proud. “Your respect comes first, bitiya. Don’t let anyone cross a line.”
I swallowed, feeling the love wrapped inside their concern. “I’ll be careful. Promise.”
Ruhi bhabhi came closer, placing a pakora in my hand like I was still a child. “Careful or not, at least eat first. No stress-talk without food in this house.”
I laughed, hugging her quickly. “Thank you, bhabhi.”
Vihaan bhai shook his head, but I caught the way his eyes softened. For him, I would always be the little sister he had to guard.
For a brief moment, sitting with Papa’s wisdom, Bhai’s protectiveness, and Bhabhi’s warmth, I felt safe.
But somewhere deep down, a faint unease whispered.
A warning I didn’t yet understand
Krish Verma’s POV – Late Night
Sitting in his office, Krish twirled a glass of whiskey.
The city lights blinked outside, but his mind was already mapping the game.
She doesn’t know whose empire she’s walked into. Perfect. The more innocent she stays, the more Malhotra will burn when I tear her world apart.
His lips curved into a cruel smile. “Welcome to my web, kaira
