Chapter: Unfolding Secrets

Reyansh’s POV

I couldn’t look away from her. Even as that guy—Raj, whoever he was—tugged her towards the car, my eyes stayed fixed on her. She slipped into the seat, the door shut, and the engine roared to life.

The moment the car rolled forward, I pulled out my phone. One click—her car’s number plate was mine. Without wasting a second, I dialed Abhishek. On the third ring, he picked up.

“I’m sending you a picture,” I said sharply. “I want every single detail about this car. Everything.”

“Okay, boss,” he replied without hesitation.

Just then, the shopkeeper called me back.

“Sir, woh ek ladki aayi aur mujhse chudiyan le gayi.” (Some girl came and took the bangles you picked.)

I almost smirked. “It’s fine. Pack me another set.”

He handed me the bangles and began fumbling with the change. I shook my head. “She already paid for it. You don’t need to return anything.”

He blinked, confused, but nodded anyway. I tucked the bangles away, turned, and walked towards my car. Sliding into the driver’s seat, I couldn’t help the restless energy thrumming inside me. Her face, her voice, those eyes—they had already unsettled me more than I cared to admit.

Kaira’s POV

We reached the palace, but the entire ride back, my mind replayed that one moment at the stall. His eyes on mine, the way he slipped the bangles onto my wrists—it was all I could think of.

But the moment we stepped out, reality struck.

Bhaiya was waiting at the entrance, arms folded, his face stormy.

“Where were you three?” His voice was sharp, full of the authority I’d always known.

“Bhaiya, actually… we went to the market,” I admitted softly.

“Without informing anyone? Are you all stupid? And Raj—at least you should’ve been careful. Ruhi has been looking for you for half an hour!”

“Sorry, jiju,” Raj said quickly. “I’ll be careful next time. Can I go meet her now?”

Bhaiya nodded but his eyes shifted back to me and Aaru, waiting.

I swallowed hard. “Bhaiya, I… I forgot my matching bangles in Delhi. Tomorrow’s your wedding, and everyone was busy, so I thought of going with Aaru and Raj. I forced them, it’s not their fault. I’m sorry.”

His expression softened, just a little. “But you were already looking beautiful. This wasn’t important enough for you to take such a risk.”

“These aren’t for today,” I explained hesitantly. “They’re for the wedding outfit. My hands were full of mehndi, so I asked Aaru to make me wear them. That’s why…”

He sighed. “Fine. But don’t do this again. Don’t go anywhere without telling me.”

With that, he walked away.

I turned to see Aaru staring at me, eyes wide with suspicion, waiting for my explanation.

“I’ll tell you everything later,” I whispered. “For now, let’s go.”

Reyansh’s POV

Back at my hotel, I showered, ordered dinner, and sat down, waiting. Right on cue, my phone buzzed. Abhishek.

I answered, leaning back in my chair.

“I’ve sent the details,” he said. “The car is registered under the name… Kaira Oberoi.”

The name froze me for a second. My brows arched. “Kaira Oberoi? Reyansh Oberoi’s sister?”

“Yes,” Abhishek confirmed. “You can check the other details yourself.”

I hung up, a slow smile curling onto my lips. Fate had just played its hand.

“Kaira Oberoi,” I whispered, savoring the name. My sweetheart. My cariño.

See you soon.

With that thought, I finished my dinner, wrapped up my work, and finally let sleep take me—her face the last thing in my mind.
